I got my renewal letter early June asking to submit the form within 28 days. My ticket runs out in October. I've hung on past the 28 days just to be awkward. If it hasn't arrived by the date they'll be sick of me phoning them on a daily basis.

Gonna be putting in for a variation,wonder how long that will take.

My wife put in for a variation earlier this year; took about eight weeks.

I put in for one a month ago; noticed yesterday they have now cashed the cheque (no longer a guarantee it will be granted, unfortunately). If I get my FAC before the Nationals, I reckon I'll be doing well (for Police Scotland, that is).

Sent a variation into Aberdeen last month. Additional 3 slots, posted Saturday, I received it back the following Friday via second class post. No complaints from me and a big thumbs up for the Aberdeen Dept.

Probably stick mine in sometime after the nationals get in before the airgun madness.

My renewal was due 5th June - I didn't get the reminder until 22nd April (what happened to twelve weeks?), I had all of the paperwork ready before receipt of the reminder and called the FEO same day. Took him until 13th May to visit. The FEO called me on 15th may to say the paperwork had been passed to Aberdeen, but needless to say I didn't get my FAC back in time although I suspect it had been passed before the expiry date. Aberdeen use 2nd class post which often takes week over a week.

A one-for-one variation last December too longer, six-seven weeks.

Nine months - no evidence of it here.

Waiting 7 months now for a co-terminous grant/renewal. Got my interview last month by phoning and chasing up a bit. Don't really blame the FEO he was a nice officer who I think is feeling the work load. I blame the cuts and it's only going to get worse with airgun licencing.

I think given the Governments attitude towards shooting and guns it's quickly likely deliberately engineered.

lucky you stayed part of the UK or you would have to be DaveFirearmsScotland and shooting would have been banned by now.
I assume the S Nazi P will hike up fees next to price you out of ownership and weed out any FEO's who like shooting.
