Well it is in bits as I type this, waiting for detailed pictures of the markings and stamps to be taken by bobbob (its her camera) but is still watching tv. Any stock refinish would remove the marks completely as they are lightly stamped destorying its history. Going to slug the barrel as well.

Nice shooting BNZ that does look to be a cracking rifle. Are they 8" plates? I don’t think you can complain too much about that for a carbine and the weather looks to have been good to you as well.

This was factory ammunition?
We need to get down soon to do some load development, chronoing and zero the new rifle. I think we are both looking forward to a hopefully sunny Siberia morning.

Hi.
Yes standard FMJ BT Privi 182gr I will use the cases for my reloads, you may have to pay slightly more in the first place for the ammo, but then get usable cases that only need neck sizing, when reloading.

Great couple of rifles there!
An M38 was the first rifle I ever bought for the grand total of £80! Put it into the shop from whence it came the other week though. As much fun as it was burning targets at 200 yds I bought a 91/30 in February and after comparing the two, thought it would be best to only feed the better one ammunition. Still in the time I had it, it didn't half turn a few heads :)
Had the Army come to our range after they heard it go off, thinking someone had burst their barrel open. Formidable bark and recoil. Love it. Knowing myself I may end up buying another one in the future. Great thing is there's so many about. Anyone who's looking for one (In any format) I'd suggest you give Ryton Arms a ring. They advertise deactivated kit only on the site, but they keep a few nice live firers if you phone them up and ask. Got my 91/30 with a matching bayonet for £130 I think
