Convince a family member to get a FOID card and buy a few guns, they should be able to take you to the range as a guest, this is what I did in IL.
State lines are not far away, and I'd have to drive much further to get to Bisley to go shoot from where I live now.
If you're stopping with friends, it's not like you have to do the 9 hour flight and directly drive an hour and a half to get to Lafayette or Indianopolis the same day, is it?
