That's a very short life for a .308 barrel surely?
Rob, you are spot on! I have an Accuracy International 7,62x51 barrel here that I swapped out at a hefty 10,000 round count and as much as I am tempted to section it I know it still has some life in it for 600 yard Sunday morning stuff.
I have just taken another 7,62x51 barrel off a service rifle and I know it has a massive round count, once I have dimensioned the profile for the replacement I will chop it up as another example.
