To clarify the issue at hand
Shooting Jackets, Trousers, shoes etc are an integral part of a Olympic competition Shooters kit. They will likley be custom made and a full set will probably be over £1000 per set. There are strict guidelines as to how stiff they are, how tight they can be etc and this is checked when you check in to an event by a panel of ISSF judges.

To be fair, Chuck did say
"Likewise I cannot see what this has to do with Olympic or Commonwealth Games - and athletics events in general." Could be seen as belittling that type of shooting.
On the other hand, Chuck saying,
"As I said, it does nothing for me personally but I will defend your right to have that discipline to chose from all the others that are available - shooting is shooting after all" puts a different spin on his post.
The thing to remember is some of Chuck's posts are like certain religious texts or political manifestos- depending on how you read them, there's something in it for everyone!

Was not belittling anyone - just a genuine thought. But if it is taken that way so be it.
SG/ Gaz, to be honest, what HAS air rifle shooting to do with GAMES that were initially athletics....I could say the same about cycling for that matter, or why Taekwondo and Judo in the Olympics but not Karate?. BUT, I do genuinely defend his right and that of anyone else to shoot air guns at any level, pity it isn't seen like that. Heck most of us on here started with airguns!
Much better approach would have been to defend airguns as a Commonwealth game than have a pop at me. Seems the latter was easier. Anyway, moving on. GUNS is GUNS, shoot 'em all and have FUN!!

So, his jacket has been lost, but why not buy a new one or borrow one and start the "breaking in" process at the games. May not win a gold medal but will show the right spirit by battling through adversity.

Maybe a possible effect on national rankings, future selection chances etc?

And if they do not compete for 6 months that will also have an effect on rankings.
