Trimmer o/d = 14.22 with a drop to 14.12 where the blade groove is
Rifle Dies i/d = 14.30
Pistol Die i/d = 14.24

Mine is 14,226mm so about right however there is no reduction in diameter. There is absolutely no way the cutter will go in full depth and it has been resigned to the shelf until I find time to take a closer look/bin it/Return it. Shame really as it looks like an interesting idea.

I got one when it first came out and it was sent back.

Typical Lee, good innovation let down by poor manufacturing and non existent quality control.

When it worked it was OK but it was finicky especially in relation to the ram pressure and handle pressure relationship.

It deburred the case mouth but didn't chamfer.

Adjustable yes but limited, like most Lee kit it is made primarily for handgun ammunition which is the biggest seller in the US with rifle ammunition suitability secondary.

Interesting that they have no plans for releasing a power adaptor, I wonder what that tells us?

I agree, I bought it for trimming pistol brass and it works just fine, does what it's meant to do. I borrowed a mate's .303 case holder die and tried it on some retired brass and wasn't impressed at all. The guy I borrowed it from told me to keep it if I wanted it.

Dromia, I find Lee stuff to be for the most OK, basic but always functional and often returning superb results. The quick trim is instantly recognisable as Lee by the look and feel of the item. The problem with this one is the three steel cutter inserts which are let into the cutter body. They are held under tension by a spring at the back end and this is causing them to cant slightly which means they do not align with the die body. I could strip it down, find and possibly correct the problem however this was always going to be nothing more than an experiment to see how it performed.

Blu, you are confirming my suspicions. I am sure it will work with rifle brass with some faffing around however if this one is flaky I am not sure I would recommend it right now.

TBH honest I'm kind of at a loss with it, from what I'm reading on it some folks swear by it when it comes to using it on rifle brass and some folks say it's no good. I've even read that it doesn't work well in other make of presses and will only work well in a Lee press. Well I'll soon find out as I've bought a used Lee press on Evilbay and it'll be here next Monday so I'll give that .303 die a go again and see what the outcome is.

Personally I don't need it for rifle brass as I have my Giraud trimmer for that.
