I have a Viper PST 1-4 on my .223 AR and a Strikefire red dot on my .22. Both are great optics, and superb value for money. Will be gettings a Vortex solo monocular soon too! I will be sticking with Vortex optics for all of my own firearms

Riflecraft are the UK distributor for Vortex, and they supply all UK retailers (including me!). There's not a very big margin on them as a retailer, so pricing is pretty similar between retailers.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Looked through one of those a few months back, very impressed.

I have the SPARC red dot sight & for the price of it I am very happy with it, build quality seems good & it comes with a lifetime warranty which hopefully I will not have to take advantage of.

I was thinking about getting a Vortex Crosfire scope but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them.

I bought a Crossfire 6-18X44 V-plex scope from Riflecraft a few weeks back and just couldn't get it hold a zero so it got sent back. In it's place they've sent me another, slightly more expensive Crossfire II 6-18X44 dead hold BDC version for no extra cost (great service from Riflecraft). I'm taking it to Bisley tomorrow for a test.

I own two other Vortex scopes, the Viper 6-24x50 MRAD ffp which is on my .308 and a Vortex 1-4x24 TMCQ MRAD scope which sits on my .223. Both are excellent scopes, no trouble at all with either of these.

I'll second a recommendation for Rilfecraft. I've got a VIPER HS 2.5-10X44 on my Remington and the glass is better than my Nikon and as good as my Leopold Vx-R. However, I believe the Viper is Japanese made and the Crossfire's are Chinese, so you may not get the same quality as the those recommended above.

Hhmm, thats the one I've just ordered. Hopefully I won't have a similar problem. I just had an email saying they're out of stock on backorder in the states so who knows how long it'll take before I find out.

With this and the above in mind it might be worth upgrading it anyway.

It's five years old, though.

IIRC it took about a month for my first one to come in.

Happy to report that once I'd actually got to Bisley yesterday (2 hours spent on the M25!!) the Crossfire II performed pretty well. I shot this @ 100M using my Lantac .223 prone off of a rucksack. After a few sighters I managed to get a decent group (target is 3" wide)

I actually perfer the BDC reticle compared to the V-plex I tried, can't quite work out why, better sight picture perhaps?

Thanks for the update on the scope, I was torn between the BDC and the V-Plex but decided on the V-Plex as it looked less fussy. Good to know yours is sitting nicely on a Lantac .223 as thats where mine is going.
