I have a new pistol stock on the old style (push button to load) receiver. I am not sure if it reduces felt recoil but I certainly like it. Should anyone be swapping the straight for pistol stock, you will need the stock bolt that goes with the particular stock as they are both different lengths and will not fit without the correct one.
Unfortunately I only ever fire slug in mine so can not comment on recoil much. No matter what gets fired there is a noticeable recoil. I have to say that I have really been annoyed at myself on several occasions when I have pulled the trigger to find the safety was on, then realised that I have had a massive trigger flinch. The only way round that for me was to shoot quicker with less time to think!

I have to say that I have never heard this rattle that has been mentioned. I delayed in posting so that I could get my gun out and make sure I had not just got used to it. My gun is spotlessly clean so not sure why. I have to say that I am happy not having a rattling gun so will not go looking to "fix" the issue!

Strange, I swapped the pistol stock from my sec.1 MPA with the straight stock on my Mk1 Escort at the weekend, no problems with fitting, both had the same size/length stock bolt, had about 3/4" of bolt coming through the hole with the washer fitted.

There may be a slight movement "rattle" if the O ring isn't fitted or is loose.
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
