We rent from a Housing Association at the moment but they won't add my Autistic son to the tenancy agreement so I need to find somewhere that's going to be suitable for my physical needs as well as a joint tenancy so he can stay there when I'm no longer here.
I've not heard about any problems with keeping firearms in the property and can't find anything online about it either.

Well it's happening
Went to have a look inside yesterday and although it's not ideal after waiting 11 years for a bungalow this is the only one on offer!. It's in a nice quite private estate so no chavs, barking dogs or druggie neighbours!. No through traffic and a field on one side.
It's not too small, 7 x 9.3m, there's already a level access shower for me so that helps!, bedrooms are a decent size as are the lounge and kitchen, only problem with the kitchen is there's nowhere to put my existing large (1.4m) upright fridge and freezer so will have to buy a combined fridge/freezer and lose about half the capacity. There's also no gas point for the cooker so that will have to be replaced as well.
There's only 1 storage cupboard so I'll need to find somewhere for the second gun cabinet, I may end up putting both of them in my bedroom hidden inside the wardrobes. All I have to now is sort out when we move, not easy as we're away on 11 days respite next week so not back until mid December then I have to put a months notice in here so we're provbably looking at mid January which means paying 7 or 8 weeks rent while we're not living there!.
Ah well, off to do more measuring and planning etc., so much for having a relaxing Christmas this year!.

Hoorah! :goodjob:
It's not too small, 7 x 9.3m,
Is it wrong that the first thing I read there was "7x9.3mm" and I thought: That's an odd calibre.

It's one of those funny Eastern European not quite really metric calibres, you should see the size of the cases
It's all a bit too sudden for my liking!, plus my poor daughter will no longer have a room of her own when she stays over, she's here about 70% of the time but as she officialy lives with her mum she doesn't exist as far as housing applications are concerned emrolleyes
No doubt we'll work something out, I did check for buses to Newcastle for her so getting to college is not a problem (providing she gets out of bed!)

Good, good. Not just me, then? I also smile whenever I'm at a shop and the price comes to something like; £3.03, or £7.62...

I'm as bad as that too, and even look for car registrations with stuff like SMG, PSG, FNH, FMJ etc etc in
Glad you're getting things sorted Jeff

Just realised that although it's double glazed the doors are wood not UPVC so won't have multi-point locking, FEO who visited in 2007 (before this house had UPVC fitted) insisted on 5 lever mortice locks being added to the existing door locks.
I do wish Id stop having these little flashes of possible problems, I'll be a nervous wreck by Monday when I have to sign on the dotted line!.

How much notice should you give if you're moving to a different area under a new force?
Did I read it right that you simply install your safe(s), pick up your stuff from local RFD then await inspection?
