Moving House?

#1 Post by phaedra1106 »

How much trouble is it to move house with a FAC and SGC?. As it will be under the same Police force and FEO I assume it's a case of moving everything and giving them a ring when it's done to have it inspected again?.

It may be at very short notice as I only got the call this morning about a bungalow we'd applied for (and not got) last October and they want it sorted a.s.a.p., One problem is that we're off across the pond in a couple of weeks so that really puts things into a very short time frame so I may have to pay a months rent on both places until it's sorted. I'm storing my guns with Dromia while we're away so at least there's no worries about that!.

Yup, that's it. Move first, then contact them to advise. Then they'll send an FLO round to yours when they can put you in their calendar.

I had to wait two weeks after I moved. Not a massively long wait, but if you're off to the States before they can get to you, just tell them that you've moved, but you're off on holiday soon. They'll sort something out.

I emailed them when I put a second cabinet in and they said they had send the FEO out to check it and he never came, that was several months ago!.

New property has an attached garage but I assume Plod will be a lot happier if I install the cabinets indoors?.

Should find out if we've got it today, there's a chap coming to do an identity check/verification and as it's about a 25 mile round trip for him I'm assuming they wouldn't be doing it unless we're going to be offered it :good:

B@gger! :squirrel:

It's not the house shown on the website or on Google Earth using the post code. No garage and looks a lot smaller than the other one as well. Plus, apparently it's between us and someone else, should have a decision by Friday.

...looked on the Google earth link you supplied me

Handy for the council incinerator & the glue factory though, and the space for the garage being taken up to the sewage farm HAS to be of more use to the community as a whole...plus the neighbours won't have issues about the smell if you move in ;)

Indeed

Luckily they're not too fussed about Jocks visiting either, and the local sheep accept those funny Scottish bits of paper you pretend are real money so you'll be well in there as well :good:

I moved forces, sent in request for new ticket from new force, FLO came round, and gave me a new ticket, had to kind of beg him to look at cabinet!

Essex couldn't be nicer; ' get moved in and call us when you're ready for visitors.'

Strathclyde were the opposite. The FLO demanded access the very next morning, bitched and whined about Essexs' allocation and generally went out of their way to be unhelpful.

Well today came and went and they didn't ring or turn up with the keys for a viewing as promised :bad:

Went and had a look round the outside of it on Thursday and don't think it will be anywhere near big enough for us. One "problem" is that although my daughter lives with her mum (on paper) in the real world she's here over 75% of the time but of course when it comes to getting a house I can only put Jared and me down so only qualify for 2 bedrooms not the 3 we have now.

However, I've applied for another 2 bungalows on the Housing Options site that came up on Thursday but no doubt we'll end up 27th on the list or thereabouts despite having been waiting 12 years for a bungalow and scoring highly due to my medical needs and Jareds as well.

There seems to be no logic to the system, I can usually find about 4 more bungalows on the complete list of properties but it says not we're eligible to bid for them as you either have to have a medical condition or be over 55, I qualify on both counts!. Some properties say I can bid and some don't even with the same requirements being listed!.

I didn't realise you were moving to a housing estate house. I remember a guy in the club commenting that the neighbourhood housing authorities wre changing the legislation to exclude firearms from their properties. Does it cause you much hassle?
