All things considered I was lucky I was still able to see or type at the time I wrote it.
As for following instructions, SGC give advice and sell reloading components to their customers so they can get the best out of their rifles which is completely against what they say in their own instructions.
I reload for all my guns and as a result get more accurate ammunition, in fact I can only think of a handful of other people I shoot with who don't reload their own ammunition.
Christel, Dave can call me whatever he wants, he has more rifles than me and a most impressive shed

Actually can I just mention that it was Blackstuff who changed the meaning of what Ovenpaa said which I of course thought was very funny.phaedra1106 wrote:

Re: SGC 9mm - Catastorphic Failure - Almost lost an eye :(
Still dragging on months later. I have twice requested a refund under the SOGA due to the well documented feed problems which I and others believe was the cause of the failure. Shooting Supplies are simply passing whatever I write to them straight to SGC and forwarding SGCs answers to me despite my contract being with Shooting Supplies not SGC. At present I have only been offered a repair at £520.
SGC are now saying that even with me being able to prove it was a factory round the fact I used home loaded ammunition at some point in time means there is no warranty (except for anything on the rifle which does not come into contact with ammunition), I did however email SGC before purchasing the rifle and specifically said that I would be mainly using home loaded ammunition and asked which barrel spec would be best suited to a load of 4.2gr of TiteGroup and 115gr plated bullets, no mention of any warranty issues were made in their reply, only the spec for the barrel and to go ahead and place the order.
Having pointed this out to Shooting Supplies they again simply forwarded it to SGC whos reply was that they don't discuss reloading but if they do they always point out that there would be no warranty. I do of course have the original emails that were sent/received.

Not trying to put you on a downer mate but I think you're on a hiding to nothing here. You've admitted to the company that you used hand loaded ammo, I just had a look at their owners manual and it clearly states:
Blu
Unless you can prove that there was a fault with the gun I believe pursuing other options could prove costly for you. Good luck with this anyway mate.SOUTHERN GUN CO LTD RECOMMENDS THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF ORIGINAL, HIGH-QUALITY, COMMERCIALLY MANUFACTURED AMMUNITION IN GOOD CONDITION THAT IS APPROPRIATE TO THE CALIBER OF THE CARBINE. SOUTHERN GUN CO LTD DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF REMANUFACTURED AMMUNITION AND DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF HAND-LOADED AMMUNITION. THE USE OF HAND-LOADED AMMUNITION WILL EXPRESSLY INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY.

I would drop it if I were you , it's not worth the stress to you it really isn't !
YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG BUT YOUR SUPPLIERS ARE BEHAVING APPALINGLY !
I will now never use SGC on the strength of your post here I believe the guns are by and large fine but yours had a fault clearly ? BUT their customer service is appaling beyond belief and I also think the retailer is not acting as they should either.
I hope a few others follow my lead and with any luck SGC will go bust and good riddance !

Thanks for the update - sorry it hasnt worked out the way you want and it looks unlikely its going to moving forward. If nothing else this thread has highlighted the issues to all and as shooters we should all make note of the situation.
