Westlake muzzle loading pistols

I'm interested in the Westlake muzzle loading pistols does anyone have any experience of the? I know he's now converting Armscor instead of taurus. Also what will I need to ask for on a variation? I'd want a pistol and several cylinders.

Never heard any negative reports about his pistols, people I know who have them are more than happy, others may know different.

I think each extra cylinder you want requires a seperate variation for each..

My variation was for a .38/.357 Muzzle Loading pistol.

The Armscor does not have a high quality feel. Its no Colt or S&W. It makes a Taurus look classy :roll: . The finish is a kind of soft-ish black (it might even be paint?). That said the single action trigger is surprisingly good, although double action is a bit heavy for me - having had a peek inside, it wouldn't be hard to improve it. The sights are rudimentary but functional. Although mine has a lightly twisted barrel which means the sights are out a bit so it shoots about 3" right at 25 yards. (I haven't raised that with Alan yet - so please don't view that as a complaint, it wouldnt be fair).

But accuracy is reasonable for a 4" barrel. There are two other owners in my club and we are all enjoying shooting them. They seem to be capable of grouping at about 3-4" at 25 yards offhand. Haven't spent any time on experimenting with loads for best accuracy - don't expect I will - to busy having fun.

The loading press that comes with the gun is basic. The thin steel lever can be hard on your hands, and its a bit fiddly to get the alignment just right.

No doubt one of Alan's Taurus conversions would be more civilised but they are (something like) twice the price. Overall - I'm happy with mine. Its not perfect, but it's enough fun for the money.
