I used to own a Lada Niva 4WD!
Apart from the heat from the engine being bled into the cabin (might be OK for Siberia but not Australia!
) it was a great car.
I could match bigger more expensive 4WD's off road, virtually indestructible, very reliable and surprisingly, it was a delight to drive. On my discharge from the RAAF I drove it across Australia (Brisbane to Perth) averaging about 900km (550 miles) a day. Never missed a beat.
