Using the 'castles' on Century during the week.

You just pay per target and the castle is classed as a target as is the zero target, it's probably down to range allocation as Siberia is usually busy so they lose lanes (revenue) when McQueens is shot wheras space is easy to find on Century hence the zero target is included.

Last time I shot McQueens on Siberia, the zero target, which I needed, got taken over by the group on the next targets. Some of whom were identified as being part of the Bisley Establishment, whatever that may mean.

if they asked and you weren't using it then fine, if they just commandeered it then a complaint to the range office and a request for a refund is in order.

From what our marker said, they just took it over, but I am a lowly newb in my club and didn't wish to annoy the Bisley Establishment who'd done the annexing. Might find our next bookings more difficult if we annoy the wrong folk, we've been ousted this coming weekend already.

Might find our next bookings more difficult if we annoy the wrong folk, we've been ousted this coming weekend already.[/quote]I could well be wrong, but I have found in life that some people will walk over you regardless, and that some Hornets nests are too tempting not to slap we arrived a couple of months ago to find another group had grabbed our target as we were not there bang on start of play, it only took a polite word to move them off, they finished up while we were setting up, so no one was inconvenienced.

I have had problems on Short Siberia in the past and was inexperienced enough to wonder WTF should I be doing, the idiot who had kicked off was the RCO for a club with 12-15 people all about to shoot on one target right next to me so the FP was getting cluttered.

Basically I was shooting off a bench and he wanted his lot to shoot prone and I was too close which was apparently my fault for booking a target near him! Anyway he called the Range Office and John25 showed up and told him not to be such an idiot and that was it, drama over.

One of the things all shooters have to learn is the rules and etiquette of Bisley and any range really, the Bisley Bible tells you everything but I doubt many people have memorised it before their first visit so it is always best to have an experienced Bisley shooter with you the first couple of times who can explain the ropes.

Which reminds me, where is John25 not seen him for a while...

they also have McQueens targets at Short Siberia, so if they are booked on century its worth asking for SS

It costs more on Siberia as you have to pay for the zero target where it's included in the price on Century.

thanks I didn't know that, is it much more ? and can you bring your own? and more to the point WTF!!!! how can they justify a difference price ?

If I understand it correctly (and I could easily be wrong) The McQueen targets on Short Siberia take the width of two targets and the zero target takes another target space. On Century the target frames are a lot wider so both the McQueen target and a narrow zero target fit onto just 2 target spaces - hence the difference in price.

I don't know either but you could well be right. Siberia has 4 ft frames and Century has 6 ft frames but the McQueen castle is the same size on both, so it costs more lanes on Siberia.
