Uzi in .22LR
Apparently this is coming to the UK later this year
) (Hopefully attached the pic correctly)

Re: Uzi in .22LR
Nope its Umarex/Walther. I would imagine, like the Umarex/Colt M4, it's an adapted airsoft gun. As long as you don't expect to put 1000 rounds a week through it, it'll probably be OK. Just looks kinda cool........

Re: Uzi in .22LR
I have read some negative comments re Umarex on the American forums, certainly your assumption re the air soft roots is mentioned too often.

Yes DM, me too. To be honest, if you bear in mind its roots and, therefore, its inherent limitations, you'd probably get on OK with it. I probably shoot .22 once a fortnight on gallery ranges and split the time between the .22, .44 lever action and muzzle loading revolver, if I put 150 rounds through my GSG in one day, it would be a lot. With that level of usage and a good clean in between, it will probably hold up OK. I know a few guys who will stand there and whack 200 rounds on every 20 minute detail and from what I've read on some of the US forums, they're not dissimilar. Putting it through that kind of abuse will probably show up any failings in short order.

Tried it at the Shot Show - brilliant! Dozens of journos shot it all day - must have had hundreds of rounds through it by the time I got hold of it at the end of the afternoon.LeighC wrote:Yes DM, me too. Nice, let's hope they continue with this sort of thing..too many AR clones about these days.

Re: Uzi in .22LR
A friend of mine in the US has a FA Uzi with a Vector .22 conversion kit - great fun for a lot less than it costs using 9x19.
Unfortunately it isn't the most reliable set-up if at all dirty.
Mind you; it wont shoot Wolf 9mm reliably either.

Re: Uzi in .22LR
The only unfotunate thing about this gun will be the price tag the importer puts on it......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
