Re: ordering from Midwayuk
The thing about Midway is you need to purchase sensibly from them ,for unusual U.S spec parts they are a very usefull , even if you do have to factor in the postage , i buy everything else locally which helps keep things within budget
Re: ordering from Midwayuk
We placed an order last Thursday and were expecting a long wait despite what it say about shipping from the US and waiting only 10 days. I checked today and it says dispatched, Parcel Force 24 hours. If it arrives tomorrow it will be the first time ever something has arrived in a reasonable time.

My last order sat in customs for almost 2 weeks then had the usual Patcelforce "pay up front or no delivery" which took them another 3 days to manage it.

Never had that problem with MidwayUK - about 4 days in Customs then delivered by Parcel Force no questions asked. That's why I like MidwayUK, for £8.95 all customs hassles are sorted.phaedra1106 wrote:My last order sat in customs for almost 2 weeks then had the usual Patcelforce "pay up front or no delivery" which took them another 3 days to manage it.
What you've described has been the standard situation when I've ordered from Brownells or another company from the US.

Then you need to speak to them as they say their prices include all customs charges and delivery. Or did you order direct from the US?

Out of curiosity, how did you get around MidwayUSA not processing international orders?phaedra1106 wrote:I am an idiot, it was of course Midway US![]()

Can I order from midwayusa.com if I have an international address?
Due to the variety of regulations controlling international orders, midwayusa.com is not able to process international orders for retail customers and accept international orders from Partners only.

Re: ordering from Midwayuk
I have US accounts with a US shipping address and a UK secondary/gift address with Midway, Brownells, Cabelas and Titan, last Midway US order (which was in 2010) I managed to get shipped to the UK after a couple of phone calls explaining I wouldn't be back in the US for several months. As it was mainly cleaning supplies and spare parts with no Hazmat or ITAR restrictions they agreed to ship. Haven't used the US site for UK delivery since, I just get it shipped to Florida and collect when we are over, if it's anything urgent I can't get here I have it delivered to Florida and then posted here.
Next trip over should be sometime in October as I'm expecting my second God-Daughter then
Depending on who we get the best flight deal with I may be able to bring back some extra stuff, if we fly charter then we only get 20 or 23Kg each. Our last trip was with Virgin so we booked 2 extra cases for the return flight quite cheaply, those plus 2 very stuffed backpacks worked out at 114Kg!. Virgin will also let you carry one piece of "sporting" equipment free too so in 2008 we brought back the usual luggage plus 2 full compound bow kits in massive Plano cases for free
