SGC 9mm - Catastorphic Failure - Almost lost an eye :(

Any news?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Surprisingly, no
It's also been mentioned they are now offering it with Uzi mags again . . .

Got an email on Saturday from Roger at Shooting Supplies, he's fianlly got the hard copy of the report and is forwarding a copy to me so should have it this week, didn't go into any details but said "The jist of it is that it was an ammunition failure".
He's asked if I have the last 2 cases that were fired, I've already sent the last 5 back with the rifle.
I'll see what the report says and then see where I stand, I've searched everywhere and can't find an instance of Prvi 9mm ammunition causing a similar problem, a couple of "squib" loads but nothing else out of (I assume) millions or rounds manufactured by them.

One thing this thread has absolutely convinced me of. I will NEVER buy an SGC gun. Well played SGC, Your marketing strategy of having abysmal customer service just lost you a potential customer. How does that feel? I'm sure I'm not the only one too... You could have made a lot of "friends" by the way you handled yourself with this rifle, especially having seen the thread and know the exposure to the community it has had.
Fail. Just like your rifles apparently.

Yes an no, had the report which I've read and had read by a couple of other people who came to the same conclusions as me. I'm in touch with Shooting Supplies who are being very helpful and will be giving them my reply to the report as soon as I receive some info I'm waiting for.

Any news' i'm very interested as we may purchase one as a club gun and info in this report could be very relevant in letting newbies use it.

Update.
Just received a letter from the dealer, he has enclosed part of an email from Robert Clarke at SGC.
Basically it says that even if I can somehow manage to find the missing Privi case and show to his satisfaction that it was factory ammo being used the rifle is still not covered by any guarantee/warranty as I have used home loaded ammo in it, from the point of the first home load being used all guarantees/warranties are voided.
He also states that I have shown a reckless disregard for my own and other shooters safety, despite having safely reloaded and shot numerous calibers (including 9mm) for over 35 years.
So, if any LRA9 owners have shot anything but factory ammo your rifle is not covered for any subsequent problems no matter what the cause.
I will of course be passing this on to my solicitor and seeing where we go from here.

It saddens me and dispappoints in equal measure. Yet it seems to tie in with all previous reports across many forums and on many points about the customer service from SGC. I wish you good luck with your legal action and believe that it is entirely necssary to go down this route without further discussion.
Shooting Supplies seem to have been helpful and I have always found them pleasant to deal with.
I was haning on until the outcome of this before deciding what to do re a 9mm. I have now, sadly, decided that there is no way I am buying anything built by SGC.
Now if only Lantac would make one!

It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
