Have you got any tips for the Spikes? I am also after a good source for spare Mags. Presumably you are running the Black Dog mags in yours?

Looking online in the states I have seen them extremely cheap but over here they seem to be three times the price.

Alan Wey in Surrey is the cheapest for BD mags - but he sells out of them very quickly - failing that Wayne at NWCP - I looked at importing them in bulk - but the hassle was simply not worth the gain.

Alan has them on permanent back order. What we need is to import a shed load of them plus the other spare springs, follower kits etc. Significantly cheaper in the states.

Hi Mike,

I am another Spikes Tactical aficionado, Welcome to the real .22lr AR15 shooting club

Ok, I have had mine for 2 years and am over the moon with it. I only feed mine on Mini mags and it never misses a beat, it did have a few feed issues when it was new, but after 500 rounds it settled down very well.

I have tinkered with it a bit and it now sports the following "Pimping" mods.

Timney trigger unit, a fiddle to fit but well worth it , CMMG bolt hold open, CMMG mags (look better than black dog), Fab defense folding pistol grip, fab defense 4 way rail forend (coming next week) and Fab defense "T" pod.

All jolly good tactical fun!!!

Cheers mate and welcome to the Spikes club, by the way check out Spikes website, http://www.spikestactical.com/new/z/index.php the T shirts are very funny indeed, a typical patriotic U.S company!

Cheers, John.

Hi John,

Cannot wait for mine to turn up! We will have to get together and start running around shooting lots of falling metal plates, all tactical stylee. I quite like the idea of the Tactical shoots that North West Customs run every now and then, just too far to go for me.

Gotta admit not 110% sure about all the newfangled tactical add on bits though, I know there is a huge selection of add on bits but I like mine to look 'original'.

I was toying with the idea of specifying it Vietnam XM177 style with the triangular forend, Colt metal extending stock, proper canvas sling etc.

Hey ho.

mine is standard m4 style Mid length with the following:

A frame foresight
Fabdefense midlength rail http://www.fab-defense.com/en/category- ... ystem.html
CAA Foregrip
D handle sights or Eo-Tech 552 with Magpul Buis for effect
CMMG BHOA

Mine runs as sweet as a nut, eats all ammo, never tried subs in it as I don't do vermin. BD mags are fine, I prefer the black / smoked look to the grey of CMMG, horses for courses really.

Nothing stopping you swapping out the fore end for a triangular ones

Well after some extensive range testing, doing the 'Pepsi-ammo-challenge' it seems that Winchester T-22 target standard velocity stuff simply p*** through the gun without fail in any shape or form. It never fails.

CCi mini mags solid tip stuff - jammed about one or two in every mag. Failure to feed.
CCi standard velocity - about one failure in every mag. Failure to eject.
Remington solid tip target - about one failure in every mag. Failure to feed bent brass case.
T-22 Winchester - 500 rnds no failures to feed, or eject. 100%.
