Bent redding decapping pin

Having a bit of spare time this morning I thought that I would remove the primers from the 9mm brass that I have managed to recover from my two shoots.
It is the first time that I have used these Redding dies and the first time I have reloaded straight walled / pistol cases, so I read the instructions just to make sure of everything.

I have had several stiff cases with the last one bending the decapping pin. Thankfully there are two with the dies so I am not stuck at the moment, but before I go on is there anything that you think I might be doing wrong?

I have no Berden cases, double checked with the one that bent the pin.

The decapping pin does appear to be quite far out, but if I wind it any further back it will not remove every primer.

Are you using a de-capping die or a combined full length resize/decapping die?.

Only ways to bend a de-capping pin are usually Berden cases (which you say they aren't), mis-aligned die (very unlikekly) or undersized flash holes, are all the stiff cases the same make?.

I hope you're not thinking or reloading those 9mm for your SGC, you know it's not allowed!!

Under sized flash holes would get my vote. The pin is getting stuck in the holes when pushing the primers out.
If they are undersized, is there anything I should read in to that ie not to re load or is it a case of making bigger before I re load?

As for flash holes, they should be approx: 5/64", are they S&B or Geco cases (DAG Headstamp)??

You can always invest in a Flash Hole Uniformer and de-burring tool and use it on all your cases so they all be a uniform size.

For the same reason I invested in a RCBS heavy duty decapping die. (one size fits all)

I use it for all my cases from 6.5 though to 45LC and 45/70.

I decap and size in different operations. Admittedly it adds another process but, in The last two years I haven't managed to bust a pin. (Says he tempting providence!)

The manual from SGC (see their website) says the use of anything other than NATO/SAAMI spec ammo will invalidate the warrenty.

Thankfully reloading solutions have them in stock @20p each, so I have ordered 10!

I was hoping to not to have to mess with the 9mm brass as I have done enough of that with the .308 stuff and had the impression that these would be more forgiving.
But having looked at the state of the flash holes I think I will invest some time in sorting them out and getting everything uniform. It should not be too difficult to improve on the accuracy of the factory stuff I have used to date,

That's why I use the Lee Universal de-capper, it has one of the smaller pin sizes, .059" (1.52mm) so (as yet) I've never had one stick in a case in over 32 years of reloading.
