Pick up the phone and speak to a person - I find E-mails can be taken out of context and the correct meaning not fully understood - 5 minutes on the phone usually gives a much better picture.

Spoke to Roger who as usual has been very helpful.

Short version is that SGC are saying Ammo fault, Roger will read the report when he gets it and then ring me. He's offered to take it further by having the gun sent to the Gun Makers Association for an independent report.

I did mention this thread and the other users reports of feeding problems, he'd already read it as has Bob at SGC who is less then happy with some of the content.

Mmmm there's a surprise. I wonder why it is then that a member of a club near me has just received a new Unicorn and the Glock mags he received have been modified and "have bits added" that he would be unable to do to a standard Glock mag himself.

I'm not surprised one little bit. SGC will not take responsibility. And Clarke isn't happy with the content of the thread..... mmmm, wonder why?

I'd tread very carefully if I were you. In fact, don't agree to anything, instruct the retailer to do anything or even pass an opinion except, "The gun wasn't fit for purpose." Roger has offered to send the gun to the GTA? That's his choice, because really, that's his problem. He's the one who has been shafted. Remember what I said 11 pages ago....?

Good. Your "contract" is with Roger Bills and not SGC. The rifle was not fit for purpose and hence, you are entitled to a full refund from the retailer, Sale of Goods Act 1979 if memory serves, this is what will protect you as a consumer. It matters not that this is a restricted/controlled item, it's still a commododity. Get that refund now. Don't bother with another.

The dispute over quality/fit for purpose/material or workmanship issues are for the retailer to sort with SGC. I guarantee that when SGC eventually get this gun back, the ammo/maintenance/moon cycle/fairies will be to blame for this happening. Everything but, SGC!

Save yourself a lot of drama and get rid......

Get a refund and forget it. Whatever action Roger wants to take, that's up to him. If you get embroiled in a "he's a nice bloke" scenario, you're done for.

I have one of these rifles, I really want to love it and enjoy shooting it. Sadly I have lost confidence in using it even though Bnz has used it a few times since a few adjustments were made with ammo. Anybody want one? smile2

And this is the rub of it for me. I like AR's. I love the concept of this rifle. I'd love to own one and shoot it as often as I could. But frankly, I wouldn't pay good money for one!

Independent report, exactly what I said too at the beginning, as I could see where this was going. Phaedra, I'd even speak to your trading standards officer too or the one in Bromsgrove, whichever has jurisdiction.

When peoples lives/eyesight are endangered I don't think you can be proactive enough despite what many on this thread has said!

Have you still got ammunition left from that day - boxes, batch number, etc? If SGC are saying ammunition fault, then that will most likely involve PPU at some stage.

If it goes that far, PPU will want to prove that it wasn't their ammunition at fault.
