Re: airbrushed gunstocks
Nope but here is an idea....
Would it be possible to strip back to wood, bleach it and then airbrush a design using spirit based wood dyes so you get an airbrush design in wood tints? I am not sure how you would deal with possible colour bleed but it would be interesting to try. Worth investing in a eBlag airbrush and cheap compressor or lorry tyre inner tube maybe?

Re: airbrushed gunstocks
I didnt use an air brush but I did try a cammo with different coloured stains and it failed miserably , I dont think you would do any fine designs with an air brush but the potential is there if your using very light coats as it may be possible drying should occur vey quickly especialy with spirit based stain .
These are the sort of guys who do good work http://www.crazyhorsepainting.com/index.shtml and of course in the US they do guns as well . Theres a guy on RFC by the name of Tuck he does good work especialy on 10/22s

Re: airbrushed gunstocks
There is a guy in Colchester who does airbrushing for scooters (vespa etc) and his work is amazing. I can find out his details for you if you want
Re: airbrushed gunstocks
Very nice work, I think you need to speak to someone who does motorbikes and crash helmets. My Fireblade was done by a company called Dream Machine who used to do race reps and airbrush work.

Re: airbrushed gunstocks
There are a couple of places that airbrush gun stocks. Hydro Graphics do it. I need to be on my laptop to get the details so will post tomorrow.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Re: airbrushed gunstocks
Mik and Peter do fancy stocks, you can even use your own 'photo.
Some magic 'floats on the water' type dipping process.
I have just emailed him and he says it is suitable for wooden stocke

Re: airbrushed gunstocks
One of the recent issues of Target Shooter (or was it the NRA Journal? can hardly tell them apart) had an artivert about someone that does it. Ian Boxall also recommended someone to me at the Easter Meeting. I've mailed him to remind me who it was and will post back.Dellboy wrote:after seeing the buid an f class u tube clip fancy getting a stock done on an old target rifle

Re: airbrushed gunstocks
Rox,
Your'e the hack, if you can't tell TS magazine and NRA Journal apart, what chance have we got?
The NRA no longer has a journal. It is a gun magazine now.
Sorry, no hi-jack intended.
