McAvoy Guns Wigan - Taking payment for out of stock item

Had a good experience with a gun shop or rifle maker? Found a good deal? Tell us about it. Had a bad experience, TELL THE GUN SHOP!

Forum rules
Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

>Add Gun Shop here<

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

This rule applies to the entire forum.

It's against the law,

"Making an invitation to purchase products at a specified price, without disclosing the existence of any reasonable grounds the trader may have for believing that he/she will not be able to offer for supply or to procure another trader to supply, those products or equivalent products at that price for a period that is, and in quantities that are, reasonable having regard to the product, the scale of advertising of the product and the price offered." This is known as bait advertising.
Yes so they have not broken the law - do you want me to break it down in simple to understand terms?

Have you rung them and asked for a refund?

Or are you just happy to post on a forum looking for yet more attention?

It is getting tiresome.

I would suspect that the problem is more to do with the fact that internet ordering is an essentially automated process. No human gets the opportunity to change the process while its running.

I've never mail ordered from MacAvoys (they are only 15 minutes drive away from me) but they are decent people. Have you tried ringing them? Don't try on a Saturday because they are hugely busy. I'd try that before posting anymore.

I intend to ring them this morning, my original question was "Anyone had any dealings with them and know how they handle complaints?"

MiLisCer, I am not looking for attention, if you find my posts tiresome don't read or respond to them and I'll happily do the same to yours.

Edit.

Now sorted, refund should be be done within 3 working days.

Probably best to contact them directly, they are a reputable gun shop and I am sure this will be quickly resolved.

It is, just as another user mentioned, an automated service.

Did you want the 204 shellholder sending?.

Do Natchez ship to the UK OK? it says they won't display shipping charges until after placing an order?.
Keep hold of the 204 holder for now, thanks.

Said Natchez - meant to say Midsouth Shooters Supply!!!
It was late, I was tired, etc. etc.

Here is a link.....http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/i ... 0004487590
$29.36

Had a couple of the Hornady bullet feeder dies off them the other week. Took 6 days to arrive, they both fitted a std small packet box & shipping was about $18
Check the site as they are way below USA retail prices - quite a few bargains that can be crammed in the same box to spread the shipping out a little
