Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.
If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Anyone considered to be a scammer will be banned without warning.

Giant rat my ass! That is a Geordie mouse (pronounced moose) which is a well known delicacy here in the North East.
With a little bit of seasoning, a soupcon of curry sauce and a side order of chips and washed down with White Lightning cider it is a meal fit for a king.
Tuck in lads and lasses!

Re: Giant rat killed
Average Brown Rat is about 12 ounces, anything over 16oz is a good 'un. I have seen verifed photos of one over 2lb, and that was big.
I would think that apart from the advantageous angle of photography of that beast, it may have been an exotic species? Cane rat or similar?
Certainly not nutria.
And no such thing as river rats or water rats.

Its all in the pic, look how the pic was taken, at arms/stick length. The 'rat ' was a standard river sewage rat .Dave 101 wrote:There was this one a little while back . http://news.sky.com/home/strange-news/article/15696471
