I ordered a Harris bipod adapter and some Tipton cleaning rod bits. Apart from sending them in very oversized box, the shipping was quite quick and I got everything I ordered!

very overpriced in UK

Midway in US though will not sell to you even if you have a US delivery address...they also want a US credit card

They ahev an "International Dept" which consists of an empty office with a ringing phone

Pity because their US pricing vs UK opricing is very good...essentially $1=£1

The flat GBP8.50 postage charge is a bit much to stomach as well...

I've recently had quotes for 2 small items from Norman Clark and Reloading Solutions, and both were over 7 quid for postage. From memory the Midway flat rate is for orders up to a £200 above which it's free, so unless you are buying one bushing at a time it doesn't seem too bad to me.

Rox is correct regarding MidwayUK's postage charges.
DELIVERY CHARGE

For UK orders a flat rate of £8.85 (inclusive of VAT) will be charged for carriage irrespective of the item quantity, size and weight of the order.
All orders over £200 delivered to the UK are carriage free.
All orders are delivered by ParcelForce.

The steep postage is because they use a courier me thinks. I can understand they do not want to go to the PO however they could use an alternative delivery method to a courier that would cost less...like the PO picking the parcels up from them.

When you consider that the items are coming from the USA and although you are paying a mark up - the fact that you don't get hit with Parcel Force and Customs charges - makes it seem pretty good to me.

It might be a false economy, but spending over £200 (for goods from the USA) and not paying any postage or other fees is OK by me.

I buy locally when I can, but sometimes MidwayUK is cheaper and quicker! :G

The bottom line is I've never had a problem with MidwayUK and I consider any postage charge as a convenience (mine) charge.

The postage isn't so bad if you compare them with Shooting-Supplies(Luxembourg).
http://www.shooting-supplies.eu/en/shipping-cost.html
DPD 0-150€ € 18.10 (15% taxes included)
DPD 150-250€ € 13.10 (15% taxes included)
DPD 250-350€ € 8.10 (15% taxes included)
DPD 350€ + € 5.00 (15% taxes included)
On the other hand Shooting-Supplies is cheaper than MidwayUK for some products and about the same (sometimes higher) for others.

Smart reloader (Italy) http://www.smartreloader.com/shipping-c ... ?chapter=0
charges the following for delivery;
You can choose basically two services:

UPS 72 hours: for this excellent service we charge 19,99€ only for every weight and every dimension to EVERY European Country!*

For all the orders over 500,00€ the shipping will be FREE by UPS!**
Again prices lower for some, higher for others.

Do the research, then pay your money!

Can't remember when last I used them. I tend to need expanding bullets (the only heads in the house are mine and the wife's and the fox in the barn) and tend to plan ahead to buy locally or somewhere like Fenland, Stuart Clays in Woodbridge face to face buying before I actually need them. Probably a set of dies over a year ago.

Midway will ship to a US address using a non-US card, I ordered 3 different shipments before we flew over in January, same with Brownell/Sinclairs and Cabelas. I used a Fair-FX pre-loaded US$currency card, got a better exchange rate than using Visa etc. and they accepted it no problem. They also do a Euro card as well.

If anyone wants one without paying their usual £9.95 charge use this link, I've got no affiliation or anything it's the one I used to get mine for free :good:

Then you just get your US shipper, Bundlebox/Ship2me etc to buy it for you in the US. There is a charge for this service but may prove cheaper?
