Time to buy my first safe as I plan to apply for my FAC this week

Here is the question. What safe ? From where ? Budget.

My specification and limitations really.

I don't want to spend more than £150.

The MAX space available Space that I could negotiate with my boss here at home Before she files for divorse is:

HxWxD
150x40x30 all in cm.
me thinks 3-5 rifles space wise?
Ammo? Where? Can it be in the safe? With extra compartment ? Or other safe? How big? I guess I will loose height with extra compartment? Does it need to physically fit ALL the amount of ammo I'm ment to be able to store under the terms of my FAC ?
So many questions froideur

Thanks in advance. Hope to see u this Saturday for ENS zombie shoot.

May I suggest you ring your local police firearms department before you buy anything. Bit of a bu**er if they don't like what you've bought! Have a look at this as well but beware that local police can take a different view to the HO :?

Have a look at their range - top quality safes.

Then speak to your friendly local lock smith and ask him what he can do to the same spec?

Brattonsound for your gun safe and then inexpensive safes from Argos/Screwfix etc for your ammo. £150 may be a little tight!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

I got my Brattonsound from The Safe Shop - http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk

Having a quick browse, it looks like it'll be difficult to fit one that is within all of your measurements.. This one comes close though - http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/products/4 ... binet.html

As for ammo, I have one of these sitting on top of my 6/7 rifle safe - http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/hardware/sec ... ge-9380973

Does the job perfectly!

A word of warning - if you are limited by your rifle budget, go for a smaller safe! Bigger safe = more rifles = more money spent! Something I maybe should have thought about before I bought mine!

Concur on the Bratton sound.

Get one as big as you can fit in/afford get more space than you think you will need. Even if your collection doesn't grow beyond your current ambitions then with plenty of space your guns are less likely to be damaged taking them in and out.

One of our cabinets is a Brattonsound deep 7 gun and I doubt we have ever managed to fit 7 rifles in it so if at all possible go wider.

It is deep because it is for scoped riles...no way could this ever hold 7 scoped rifles.
...buy a 7 gun and don't expect to use it for more than 5 scoped rifles.
