Another mystery rifle sling

A fellow shooter and SMLE enthusiast in California picked up this Lithgow #1mk3 1920 production with the sling shown. The sling is a new variation for me; I can't say I've seen one with these keepers and a turn of the century date on the sling ends. Is this a trials model sling or ?

Hi Rufrdr, it's a US sling for the Krag

How about that! I've only seen the leather Krag sling. Thanks!

Hi mate,

Very nice looking Lithgow your friend has got himself, tell him to change the front sling swivel for the correct early (pre 1924) wide piling swivel, if he wants the authentic look!

Cheers, John.
