Greetings from Whitley Bay

#1 Post by Jonthebrit »

Hi folks,

Very new to shooting and at the moment in the process of joining my first club (Mayfair shooting centre). I'm predominantly interested in full bore because I have done some competition shooting in the (distant) past when I was in the ACF (SLR & the civi SA80) but I did do some 22 target shooting for practice at the time also. I’ve also tried my hand at clay shooting and enjoyed that a great deal so expect to pick this up at some point.

Shooting has always been something I’ve been very interested in (and the main reason I was in the ACF) but uni/job/marriage and kids have happened since and I’ve not carried it on. I’m in a position now (nearly a couple of decades later) to have some ‘me’ time so here I am.

I’m popping along to see the Tyne Valley Rifle club shoot at Ponteland on the 26th and fully expect to join them the same day.

So that’s where I am at the moment. I’m very open minded about it all and expect to find my interests widen a great deal once I get stuck in.

Some very interesting and informative posts on this forum so I really had to join and get stuck in!

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Welcome indeed. F-B(UK) is slowly becoming a handy resource for shooters new and old so please do ask questions. have you decided which fullbore path you would like to take at this stage?

Hi matey, Les here from the other end of the coast road and Ponteland rifle range is about 5 miles from me and I might also go to put a few downrange if there is nothing on the telly. So might see you there. I am the bald headed bloke with glasses, so come and say hello.
Any questions you have will be answered by this forum or ask at the shoot.
Best wishes and welcome to the club.
Les
