Hi All
I need some advice, I have a Marlin 1884css .38/.357 and I'm wanting to mount a scope so I have purchased a weaver 63BS Silver Top Mount to mount the scope, however I'm not sure what scope mounts I need that will fit the scope richter optik scope 4-12x50 to this top mount.
Can someone who previously managed this advise me on which scope mount I need that will the scope and attach to the mount plate.
It's would great if you could send me a link to something suitable.
Thanks in Advanced
Regards
SeanW

Hi Sean
If you have Weaver base rail then you will need scope rings to fit a Weaver rail , obvious thing to say but there are various rails of differing sizes [ width of the dovetail ]
You will also need to know the diameter of your scope as rings generaly come in 2 sizes 25 mm [ 1 inch ] or 30 mm . Most common being 25 mm .
Then there is the diameter of the objective lense [ muzzle end ] as this will determine the height of the rings , these are generaly called low , medium or high ,
Looking at you scope dimensions you may well need a set of high rings . But this all depends on the clearence from the underside of the scope to the top of the barrel .
Sorry I cant be specific on you exact requirments but I hope this points you in the direction of things to be considered , it may well be just as easy to take the rifle and scope to a dealer and ask his advice and purchase from him . Heres a link to Sportsmatch http://www.sportsmatch-uk.com/ they do reasonably priced rings and mounts theres also a bit of info there as well .
I often buy mounts and rings from this guy http://stores.ebay.co.uk/MICHAEL-TAWN-A ... 513&_pgn=1 but you need to know what you require .

Re: Marlin Scope mounts
You may just have to try a few,i did before finding the right height. And not everyone high's are the same height same with mediums and lows.

...which is why it sometimes works out cheaper in the long run to take the rifle & scope into your local shop & see what mount/ring combinations work out bestmr smith wrote:You may just have to try a few,i did before finding the right height. And not everyone high's are the same height same with mediums and lows.
