F/TR scope

#1 Post by Mr_Logic »

I am in the market for a new scope for the new target rifle. Current is the 6.5-20x50 Leupold VX-III with varmint ret. it's not my ideal choice and is a little light on magnification.

I would like to upgrade mag and get either fine duplex type ret or something with an MOA type reticle. The other thing I'd like to do is part ex my 22 Hornet and 223 CZ against it. This leads me to somewhere like the Sportsman, and thus to Leupold or Nightforce.

So, is the 8-25 VX-3 going to be enough out at 1K with the little F class bull? i've been shooting the TR target as that's what the club uses, so I don't know myself :-(

Advice welcomed, ta muchly!!

The 8-32 Sightron is the choice of many F/TR shooters - light weight, great reticle and good value with good after sales service from Aimfield Sports.

Tom

I've got the Sightron 10-50x60 & just picked up a 8-32x56 that im putting on my 308 so if you're at Oundle Monday morning you can have look through to see what you think.

They're not for sale though  the big one is going on my .284

I have been debating whether to shoot Monday or today. Decision now made! (and the weather forecast for Monday is a load nicer than today!)

What sort of time will you be there?

well its a morning session, 0930-1300 I'll probably roll up around 1000.

I plan to bring my Chrono and just confirm my 308 load so if you want to ping a few rounds over you'll be welcome assuming If it's not too manic and we can get a free firing point :good:
