TV Gun Shows Go Mainstream in 2011
http://www.ammoland.com/2011/12/21/tv-g ... m-in-2011/
I have seen trailers to Sons of Guns, very similar to American Choppers, same producer me thinks.
Worth watching on a lazy Sunday.
Anyone on here seen any of the three programs?

A step in the right direction but not really anything informative / educational etc ... more like light-amusement value at best. Wonder if we will ever see anything about competitive rifle shooting and serious gun stuff?

Quite fancy one of those AKs though, just wouldn't fancy shooting from a standing position for very long!

Yeh ive been watching them, if you ignore the obviously hammed up stuff they are quite good fun
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

"This will be issued to small units of our boys serving over seas, and it'll be game changer"...
err... why?
The US already field a heavily augmented M14, that'll punch out to 1000 yards, and the current longest-sniper-kill-record is held by the British Army at over a mile with a .338 bolt-action.
Seems like there'll trying to turn a go-cart into a car, and claim it'll be a game changer on the road. Why, the car already exists.
Fairly entertaining, though. Sad this is, the only way "gun shows" get on the air is if they're styled after "pimp my ride". An actual firearm show about rifle accuracy, reloading data, weather conditions etc, wouldn't get an audience

The only one I saw was for a suppressed S/A shotgun , it was as though they had just invented the wheel , it was either a very old programe or they were BSing us it was a new idea never been done before .
Not seen any others , as said a bit like Orange county again .

We like Sons of Guns

OK, so they have a laugh with firearms but they do have a responsible side. On an episode this week a young single mum walked in. She had been burgled, thankfully she and her children were out. She wanted something for self defence. They asked her if she had any experience, she didn't. They gave her the details of someone who teaches novices as they don't like selling to people without experience.
The bazooka this week was pretty good.

Take it for what it is, good fun.
Certainly not a serious gun show.

It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
