A thermal fishing suit. The type carp fisherman use with saloppettes, fleece lined bottoms and jacket, all waterproof and very warm. There's plenty of room in the shoulders of the jacket due to fisherman needing to cast.

Buy the more expensive layered suit; rather than the cheaper thick nylon type. Mine is like this one:

As you already have a buffalo type thing, I would grab an army surplus goretex jacket and shove that over the top. Keeping any wind away from the pile/pertex will up your insulation dramatically when static. I now wear grub stalkers on my feet when the teperature drops, havent had cold feet since. Add a good hat, some form of scarf to keep the wind out and you should be good to go. maybe add some german army winter trousers for added leg insulation.

That reminds me of a well known forum Administrator who bleated that her German army surplus Gore-Tex was leaking and she was getting wet. I think it was Duffeyeddoyle who very dryly replied ‘That is why it was surplus’ or words to that effect.

I'll have to dig out my bear skin dear stalker Bro got in St Petersberg when it was called Leningrad...mid 60s?...story goes that the OoW crashed HMS Devonshire whilst parking and some dull bugger turned the jammers on when they shouldn't have.

But...I digress.

Second that for fishing stuff. I use Sundridge gear which is designed to allow you to sit and fish in the worst of weathers.

Also wear a Buff all the time as it stops anything going down my neck - wind, rain, cases!
