It was good fun, if not a little worrying thinking that you may be sinking money into a pigs ear that will never resemble a purse of any description, unless it's a pigs ear shaped purse!

The club chronograph wasn't available, so going on the published figures for a guestimate at the velocities, I would say the 52gn would have been around 2900 fps and the 69ers somewhere around 2600. It does have an 18 inch barrel and they weren't maximum loads.

I looking forward to getting some of Rogers cast bullets and trying it with pistol powders at 100.

Yes, it is fugly! It really is, but hey, you'd still love a ginger haired, step child, right............?!!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I don't know where to start...

First you post about mouldy coats, then you tell people you broke your knob off and THEN you start using the G-word on a public forum!!

Shocked I am....
