...and another thing.

If you invert a Lee Perfect Powder Measure to empty it all the powder falls out, every last grain.

Try that with a Redding Powder Measure (many times the price) and you will find loads of grains stuck to the inside of the plastic hopper, courtesy of static electricity.

I'm more that happy with my Lee stuff. I have loaded countless thousands of pistol type rounds on my turret press and auto disc measure with no problem. I choose to use my Lee cast single stage press for all my rifle rounds and the "perfect" powder measure works just as well as my more up-market measure.

The only Lee product that I have found disappointing is the scales. Anyone thinking of buying a starter kit I would suggest spending a few extra ££'s and getting a RCBS 502 or Redding No 2 scales.

I have used Bonanza, Lyman. RCBS, Herter, NDFS, CH4-D and Lee......quite honestly the only difference I have found is PRICE. In use, no discernable difference.....

All of my stuff is Lee, with the exception of scales and one set of dies. I do have the Lee scales and used them for a year or two but they do seem to bounce around quite a bit before settling. I replaced them with a set of RCBS 502 which are infinitely better. I have one set of Lyman dies, all the rest are Lee and to be honest I'm perfectly happy with them.
Edit: Oops - forgot my CH4D primer pocket swager and priming tool which I now use in place of the Lee Ram Prime, it's marginally easier to setup.

Spot on Sim
ALL of my kit is Lee I have no reason to change any of it even the scales, I load .308 ,.303 and .223 with great results

Lee, RCBS, Lyman, whatever - it is operator error that produces poor ammo.

There are an awful lot of people out there who think they know what they are doing.

My Grandad (yours too I expect) used to say - "It's a bad workman who blames his tools."

What he said was, is, and ever shall be; right in every particular.

If you guys are happy with Lee then carry on using it good luck to you.

The dies are all right. The priming tool is Ok all though the thumb lever snapped off on mine so I bought a better quality one.
I have heard that the new cast press is ok all though I have never used one.

But as for the rest of it there is no room on my loading bench for it thank you.

I tried it in my early days but as soon as I could I binned it and bought better quality scales, press, a lyman case trimmer and accesories, a couple of RCBS powder measures , Hornady beam scale a digital scale etc etc.

If I was advising some one just starting out I would still tell them to avoid Lee stuff.
Except for the dies and may be the auto prime.

But you rant on guys be my guest.
