I'd guess for reloading 100 rounds (what I did last time) It took about 4 hours of case prep - full case resize whilst depriming, clean primer pocket: note to self, need a better cleaner than the lee one: wire wool clean the outside of the case, and reprime the case.

Then about 2-2.5 hours fill the cases with powder (lee powder dispenser to within 2 grains of the final measure then trickle in the last grain and a bit with RCBS powder trickler) and seat the bullet.

Definately, I started this year too (both shooting and reloading) so when i hit the V-bull with ammo I've loaded myself, its a 2 fold victory :)

I also reload for my gf's mom, who sunday shot her best ever 600 yard match with ammo I reloaded... double bonus :)

Last weekend it took two of the team , plus about a couple of hours from me, a full afternoon (about 4-5 hours) to deprime, resize and trim 2250 .308 cases.

It is going to be a very long job to load 11000 rounds for the GB team to South Africa in March. We do have some very competent help to precisely handload the 1330 rounds for the two international matches.

I hope it turns out to be worth the effort!

Sorry, no. As anyone who has seen my views on handloading elswhere will know, I know F*** all about it. But I have a very competent Adj who does know about it, and a most generous friend who really knows his stuff has, completely unprompted, offered to do the high-class stuff for us into fire-formed RUAG cases.

The load is, I believe, 46 gr of N140 behind a Sierra 2156 Palma bullet, loaded 2.900" OAL, which is the equivalent length to give the same jump as a 2155 MatchKing at 2.800" (the standard RUAG NRA round). This was used by the GB team to Canada 2011 with excellent results. It is both highly accurate and, like the 2155 bullet for the NRA Imperial, tolerant of different chambers and lengths, so it eliminates complex logistic problems of matching specific ammo to specific guns (other than the international match ammo, which, as it's only 70 rds each, we might carry individually). The horror stories of shippers emptying out precisley matched ammo and repacking it do not arise.
