Has anyone come across any cost and/or ballistics comparisons anywhere ??
I have a cunning plan formulating for my next toy and I'm considering something different

By chance I am also considering something along the same lines and had got excited re the 300 AAC BLK http://www.300aacblackout.com/
I liked the idea of using a .223 bolt,Magazine, upper & lower etc which are already easily obtained in the UK, but having a .308 barrel / bullet. The brass is becoming popular in the USA and should be easily sourced, certainly Hornady etc are now making re loading dies for them.
However I realised that you would need to ream the barrel and after a quick email to Border Barrels, was told that they don't have the reamer but can get one and sell it on with the barrel. No idea how much a reamer is but I guess they are not cheap.
So will follow any avenues you come up with with interest. I assume that you have had a look at http://www.accurateshooter.com/?
A wealth of knowledge on there,
