Where can I buy a .31 Lyman pilot?

#1 Post by ptheta »

Does anyone know where I can get a .31 pilot for a Lyman Universal case trimmer?

The only place I've been able to find is MidwayUK. With their delivery charges I'd end up paying more for delivery than for the pilot.

I may well have a spare, failing that I can soon make one, how quickly do you need it?

That's very kind of you, thanks Ovenpaa. I shan't be using it until the Christmas break so there's no immediate rush. If you could sort me out I'd be glad to put a fiver into your nominated charity of choice. It would cost me that at Midway without the delivery charge.

I picked up the case trimmer in the US, only got around to using it this weekend and then realised that the pack of pilots didn't include all the ones I needed. D'oh!

No worries, if I have one I will ask Christel to pop it in the post, if I have to make one I will try and find a few spare minutes one evening, failing that I am in the shed Sunday. Just to confirm, it needs to be .310" diameter?

Thanks for double checking. I thought it was .310 but I went and looked on the Midway site and it's actually .312:
"Lyman Case Trimmer Pilot #31, 7.7mm (312 Diameter)"
http://www.midwayuk.com/apps/eproductpa ... mID=298957

It's to use with my .303 and 7.62R cases. The Lyman site says this is the one I need.

I'll PM my address to you.

Ah, well I do use slightly different ones for my .303 and 7,62 and I have some fired 54R cases so I will check the sizes I use.
