And as for animals, i don't think they're aware of the concept of offense/defence so i only refer to those terms in regard to humans. You're not one of those killing animals is murder types are you . . . . :?

I don't think animals are aware of concepts like death or nutrition yet you say you 'kill' an animal and that its meat is 'nutritious' none the less. The object does not have to comprehend the terms used with reference to it or else we would not call a hammer a tool since nails do not understand what 'work' means.

Merriam Webster defines the noun 'weapon' as:

"something (as a club, knife, or gun) used to injure, defeat, or destroy"

That applies as much to animals as to humans.

And no, I don't believe that killing animals is murder. Did I imply as such?

Okay so the comparison i made was poor, and i think we'll have to agree to disagree.

As far as i'm concerned i have no lawful offensive or defensive (because i associate these uses with humans only) reason to possess any of my firearms, ergo they are not weapons.

Personally i think referring to them as such, in this country, is dangerous and fuels the anti's, but thats just my opinion.

The Glock is a 10mm. Not sure about the 1911 but I assume it's a .45, could be 10mm or something more exotic though.
