OK, so the barrel must fit up against a register then. Are longer barrels easy enough to come by?

A silencer is a must!

I intend on replacing the fore end and had a quick look today at the standard unit that Bob has installed. It does not appear to be fitted using the standard AR style ring, but appears to need a special 2 pronged tool.
Has anyone got any experience of taking this off - do you have a tool - any advice?

And has anyone seen a suitable flash hinder / muzzle break for it?

Firstly, welcome to the gang party2 Secondly, welcome to the 'scoure the country for reasonably priced 9mm' gang

The foreend: I have no idea why this non-standard foreend nut (its not the same diameter as 'normal' AR nuts either  ) was used :? Other than maybe as a money making exercise for Bob to replace them :-P ANYWAY, i removed mine using good old fashioned caveman technique - a lump hammer and a round-nosed punch  Just took my time and gradually increased the force of my strikes until the locktite gave and away i went! Most foreends come with their own barrel nut and it really is as simple as screwing the nut on, then screwing the foreend on the nut :good:

Mine was a 1st generation version (i see yours has the fat barrel and bigger lever release - starting to get PROPER lever envy now   ) so had the skinny barrel which came with the standard M16 'birdcage' flash hider. depending on the thread of your barrel will depend on how much of a carry on it will be to find one to fit. Have a look on MidwayUK for some ideas, then try to source one in the states :good:

That is just too nice......

My "wants" list has just been revised....thanks for that!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Just spoke with Ian from ITL Shooting supplies http://www.itlshootingsupplies.co.uk/page10.htmre 9mm ammunition, he will be at the show this Sunday and will have a stall to the left of the doors on the veranda of the shooting pavilion.
I will be along to see what he has, If I have not spent all my money on other stuff, I will get some 9mm to try my toy..

Purchased 500 rounds from ITL today @ £19 a 100, not the £16 he has advertised - I was not sure of the web advertised price when at Bisley or I would have mentioned it.

Hopefully I will get on the range on Tuesday and give it a go - do you think these barrels need "shooting in"?

From LCJ - the USA based magazine company
Currently we are not shipping out of the US. I apologize, we should start shipping again in 2-3 months.
So note to self, try again January,

And Robert Clark (SGC) replied to my queries re the thread for the muzzle break
The thread should be 3/4" x 16 tpi, just check the OA diameter
If anyone can confirm this it would be nice,

I didn't do a proper shooting in procedure with mine, but as its a plinker/gallery rifle in 9mm would it really need it?

My barrel thread is 9/16 x 24 but mines the skinny barrel

DM, a timely buy as I have just seen pictures of the MK6 with the Glock magazines and I have say that it is one of the ugliest firearms I have ever seen. I suspect that existing models may well appreciate in value now.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Mike, can you post pictures or a link to the Mk6 version?

It now looks like I need to purchase a barrel nut to fit my Sampson for-end to when it arrives, does anyone have one laying around?
