Value Bullet Company Lead Heads
Does anyone have experience of reloading with these :?: Henry Krank seem to sell them very cheap
so I'm considering buying them to reload in a 44 Magnum.
Re: Value Bullet Company Lead Heads
I thought about them too then discovered Dodgyrog and his cast boolits.

+1 for Dodgyrog. Factoring carriage as well and they ain't cheap. I can get Dodgyrog's finest to Dundee at no extra charge. Pick them up when your passing.

I believe Rog is sitting at £45 per 1000. They are 200gn though. I have 750 here waiting to load up. Bit waxy sometimes but a little rub with white spirit and they are as good as anything else.

Re: Value Bullet Company Lead Heads
I have to say that 'HEADS' is not the term I (or Dromia for that matter) would use. We use the word boolit to discriminate against the jacketed variety (bullet).
I have cast over 100kg in two days this week as final preparation for the weekend at the Trafalgar - I hope and pray that the turn out is of a different order to that of the Imperial!
Mike, I have been working on the lube. As you may know that the softer it is the better it seems to perform in the rifling, but the transport of the boolits does redistribute the stuff somewhat. I have stiffened the lube up with Carnauba wax and hope for better presentation as a result.
The use of the Magma lube-sizer does speed things up and save my weary arm but the down side is that the lube can fly around a bit. I could use the Star lube-sizer but I don't want to get tennis elbow again as it hurts like hell.
As with everything in life it is a compromise.
On the up side I recently got my first 1 MOA 100 mtr group from my 30-06 Ackley improved sporting rifle. It does open up a bit further out but it is most satisfying to have done it.
To all those attending the Trafalgar, Dromia and I would be delighted to see you and chat around the Pukka Bundhooks stand.

Hi Rog,
I'm interested in having a batch of your boolits, do you know of anyone using them succesfully in a 44 Mag microgroove barrel? I'd be interested to know what load they use etc.
Cheers
Derek
