Rifle magazines from the USA
I am cautiously going forward with this idea, should it in any way be against the forum rules or should anyone think that what I am proposing is in any way not allowed then please speak up and I will be happy to sort myself out.
I am going to be ordering a number of magazines from https://shop.lcjwholesalestore.com/contact-send.sc
And would be prepared to put together a bulk order should anyone see anything that they are after. It would be my plan to divide the shipping costs and whatever the tax man/customs charge proportionately across the order - all transparent and with no profit for myself.

I read that these fit in metal work designed to take the AICS mags which now retail at £60 per mag. One report said that there was a Little more play with these mags but that they operated flawlessly.
I will be getting a number of the AR 9mm mags which I am reliably informed will work in the SGC 9mm I recently purchased. I see that they do them in 3 different sises, which may be more use in competitions.

DM,
Will they actually export them?
Some have changed their criteria in the past six months.

Re: Rifle magazines from the USA
When ordering from Brownells, 10 round magazines were fine to be shipped, but "high capacity" mags needed an export licence....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

DM, C Products mags for the SGC 9LR are available for export as I have read of several people ordering them direct from your source but that was a few months ago.

Re: Rifle magazines from the USA
To be honest I do not know if they still export them or not, their shipping page has the UK as a country that they send to and they have a shipping or p&p price to the UK.
I think I will go ahead and order what I want, I will let you know if they accept the order or bounce it back.
If the order is accepted, I will let you know what they are like when they arrive,

Hi DM,
2 months ago I tried to order a scope and mount from the US, after several days I got the reply "we no longer ship gun parts to your country" so I will watch what happens about you order with interest....
By the way welcome to the 9mm family

Re: Rifle magazines from the USA
It would appear that when ordering from the US things can change quickly.
I have ordered many items from Brownell's Sinclair's and Opticsplanet with relatively little issues. When I did order an item over $100 dollars from Brownell's, I found the required paperwork easy to source and it was well worth the small effort it took.
An issue that has recently become obvious to me is that some manufacturers are stopping agents from shipping outside their own country, thus protecting their agents in other countries from being under cut. I had this problem with my Black Hawk gloves. This was frustrating as none of the UK dealers were selling the item I wanted as basically they are too warm/expensive for the UK market. Eventually I found an Ebay seller who would send them out and I now have toasty warm hands. Similar with Burris Z rings from Optics planet.
Magazines are a new one for me - we will see. At the moment the automated system at LCJ is trying to charge me over $300 for postage alone, for 10 magazines! I have sent them a querie, and wait their response - I suspect that they have just multiplied the normal cost per item x 10 which would be well over the top. Sinclair's normally charge around $40 per box.

The $300 might be including the cost for the export licence. Just a thought.

Re: Rifle magazines from the USA
There seems to be two legal requirements at play...
1. To export some types of goods the manufacturer must obtain a licence for the USA dealer to export. Some manufacturers can't get them or can't be bothered.
2. Federal and state laws exist that preclude the export of certain items...eg high cap mags.

I think there is a trigger point for orders over $100 without shipping, hence Boyds selling their stocks at $99+shipping. Once you go above the paperwork increases :(
