A long distance accurate round, little recoil, very similar in ballistics to my .22C.
Worth looking into.

(Some tests indicate that it can be .3 MOA-accurate, even past half a mile.)
So 65mm groups at 800m ish. That is handy shooting, reckon you can beat it with the 22C?

Assuming of course

it's not raining,
it hasn't been raining in the last few hours,
it's not likely to rain in the next 4 hours

AND finally the ambient air temp is above 18'C

The end result is a compact rifle with a decent barrel length that handles very well and as I was to discover punches well above is weight. Just to whet your appetite two loads I developed using VihtaVuori N130 and N530 powders offer the following figures:

85-grain Sierra HP Varminter 3103 fps/1810 ft/lbs
100-grain Nosler Partition 2861fps/1830 ft/lbs
100-grain Nosler ballistic tip 2916 fps/1870 ft/lbs

None shoots outside ½” at 100 yards, all of which is most impressive and powder charges do not exceed 30-grains. In terms of ability the 6.5 Grendel really does offer 223-like characteristics with near 243 Win performance without any problems.
If I could have a S/A AR-15 then the Grendel would be my choice. :good:
