We are moving
In case forum members did not get their email...
I am sure I am not the only one to be absolutely seething over our current spate of forum outages these last few days so we are moving. I have just placed an order with a new Maidenhead (UK) based hosting company and the plan is to get F-B(UK) shifted a quickly as possible. We now need to update yesterdays back up and start the migration and hopefully be in a new local and stable server ASAP.
The transition should be seamless as it will be carried out in the early hours over the next couple of days and I will post a temporary link to the new location so we can all test it, the DNS will then be changed and we should all wake up to a new stable forum. The layout and look will stay the same and in an ideal world all posts, PM's and pictures will be carried over.
I can only apologise for the issues over the last few days and thank you all for your patience and the continued support of our forum. I guess we can look on it as an early birthday present for the forum as we have our one year anniversary at the start of November.

Re: We are moving
Well done for all your efforts sorting it out - onwards and upwards! :goodjob:
Re: We are moving
Not your fault at all. We are lucky to have the forum and some good people running it for us

Re: We are moving
Was it just me who couldn't get in at all for about an hour?
Chrystel, we all do appreciate the time and effort, perhaps now would be the time to ressurect/transfer the discussion about voluntary payments to this thread?
will have to do for the moment.

Christel
Thanks for all your work for us.
I thought the problems were because Cornwall is at the end of the Earth, God's Country, and the bytes were thinning out down here!!
Please consider contributions - it would be a great shame to compromise what we have got for the sake of a few quid each.

I would be happy to contribute to keep the site up and running.

Re: We are moving
Thank you all for your kind offers (again:) I am working on the migration at the moment and that should go through in the next 2-3 days.
When I started FB nearly a year ago it was mostly to shut Ovenpaa up and back then I certainly did not anticipate just how loyal a following it would attract. There are even forum members with hoodies
Hopefully this move will be an end to all the problems we have seen lately. I do not intend to skimp on hosting, it has to work. We may even with time have to upgrade the hosting, who knows. Thank you all again for your support.
I am thinking of the Paypal button or something similar, I shall get back regarding that but right now the move is more important.
