SLOW

#1 Post by Polchraine »

After the changeover, the response time seemed to be fine with pages appearing immediately. But since then ...

Last night it was taking 40 seconds for a page, this morning anywhere between 15 and 20 seconds ...

Latency is good and consistent at around 100-120 ms.

I can access other websites in the US with pages being served a lot faster and if I go to the hosting companies own website, it is almost instantaneous ...

There must be a problem in their internal network or the site is being throttled ...

Also worth noting is that the host is one I asked some technical questions of a while back - they have never responded even after reminders, so one which will not get any business from me.

Microbore ...

Almost certainly within the JustHost network ... their own pages arrive in a very timely manner

I have been running Traceroute on the host and it is quick and crisp until it hits JH so the issue is certainly with them. Their Live chat has also confirmed that they have issues. Christel is talking to a UK hosting company right now and details are in the other thread.

I've had a trace running for two hours - it is 115/116 ms consistently with the worst recorded at 122ms so very very consistent. There was never doubt in my mind that it was within their network.
