Greetings from Oxfordshire
Greetings from a new member to the forum. I am sadly no longer an active shooter, having seen the writing on the wall re handguns and managed to sell both my guns, a Colt Python .38/.357 revolver with 6" barrel and a Colt .45 ACP through Fultons at Bisley, a year or so before the curtain fell. After that .22 rimfire or larger bore rifle shooting never held my interest enough to make me take up shooting again, though I have been known to occasionally use a shotgun.
Before that I used to enjoy regular turning-target Police Pistol and Service Pistol competitions, mostly at Bisley's Cheylesmoor ranges and sometimes hosted by other clubs or, memorably once at the military ranges at Arborfield Garrison. We also competed against service personnel from American air bases, diplomatic protection officers and other professionals who were required to maintain their shooting skills for their jobs. Also fun were the skittle shoots at Bisley's yearly pistol shows.
I was a member of Pinewood Pistol Club and helped in the construction of their indoor full-bore range in one of the buildings at a former isolation hospital. Happy days.
I joined to pose a specific question and will now adjourn to a more appropriate part of the forum to do so.
