Labradar app
Anyone using it on an Amazon Fire tablet? I already have it working fine on a Galaxy, but it won't let me install it on a Fire HD.

Re: Labradar app
Have you installed all the extra Google services and the Play store, you might need that for it to work:

Re: Labradar app
After three attempts, I emailed labrad....an hour or so later, they replied that it's designed for Android and iOS only. The Amazon Fire OS is based on Android but has some tweaks so that it will only run Amazon-android s/ware.
Labradar are missing a trick there......I'd much rather chuck a £25 second hand Fire tablet in my range bag than manhandle a £500 boing around on the firing point, particularly since the app makes the Labradar a completely different animal, far more practical to use when actually shooting.

Re: Labradar app
I know that it is a fair bit more than a second hand Kindle Fire, but you can get decent Android tablets for a lot less than £500.
This Nokia one gets decent reviews at less than £200:

Re: Labradar app
Sorry the link I sent was for the more expensive one with 4G, more RAM and storage than the base model:
https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_gb/noki ... 20RID1A012
This is the base model and is just under £150

Re: Labradar app
For "boing" read boing...I've already loaded it on a mint Galaxy Tab A that I got off ebay for 30 squid, and it works fine, but I want to keep that for "best"
I had already seen and tried the howtogeek link, but he's using a 10th gen. Fire... mine's a 7th, and I can't get the options that he shows.

I have a couple of Fire tablets and ended up getting a second hand Galaxy S5 (£150ish)as I was having the same issue with navigation apps. Blame the developers for locking the Fire down to a stupid level.

Re: Labradar app
Amazon clearly thought that degrading Android so that Fire users would have to use Amazon apps was a sound business move......
I finally managed to access the page that has an option button to use apps from other sources, switched it on, and still it won't go.
There's probably a way to do it, but that's one for the long cold wet nights to come.
