No, I am not comparing target rifles to surplus rifles. The comparison is bullets. I made the suggestion that the bullet used in the K31 should be a quality bullet. That’s it. And it’s based on trying different budget bullets against others, with all other things being equal.

Given that the K31 is regarded as an astonishingly accurate service rifle, with testimony all over the Internet, perhaps you should try a better bullet. Nothing I’ve read so far puts the K31 as a 3 MOA rifle.
and I have made the counter suggestion that after 10 years of shooting one I have found the PPU bullet perfectly OK for the purpose for which the rifle is used, I have tried a better bullet ie that used in the GP11 round (its all we use on the Swiss ranges ) and as the original question was "Preferred FMJ bullet for 7.5x55 Swiss" I suggest that you have taken the discussion away from its roots :p unless you are suggesting that there is a quality FMJ that significantly outperforms the PPU 174gn FMJ in 7.5x55? over to you sir cheers
PS if you can regularly achieve better than 3MOA from an unsupported K31 with issued sights then more power to you shakeshout

PPS also don't forget the tight throat on the K31, a lot of bullets won't fit without adjustment of seating depth, (sometimes considerable) and that can then lead to problems. just more to go wrong
