If money was no object, I'd have a collection like this, even if it meant moving to another country. I'd collect almost anything except Polymer framed handguns......They are really just a tool not a desirable firearm.

But being practical.....I really fancy a straight pull SLR.

Ah, that appears to be the gun room of Charlton Heston if I am correct. Straight pull SLRs seem to be surfacing quite frequently but at £1800 they are pretty steep.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

It wasn't his.
Yes, SLRs a bit expensive and SHMBO keeps spending all our money on non essestial items like clothes, curtains, Xmas presents and flowers etc.
Re: Money no option wish list
The L1A1 is a straight pull is it not, regardless whether it is single shot (which is the intention here I believe), semi-auto or full auto.
Re: Money no option wish list
The SLR is operated by a gas piston controlled by a adjustable regulator. Most like the British issue I shot were semi auto only. Some were made with a full auto selector and heavy barrel for use as a squad support weapon but not for the UK.woody_rod wrote:The L1A1 is a straight pull is it not, regardless whether it is single shot (which is the intention here I believe), semi-auto or full auto.
To be UK legal they must be of completely new manufacture without a gas system, so they have to be manually cocked after each shot. What we call Straight Pull :)
I know a sec5 dealer who considered putting some together, but you cannot use main parts that have been previously on a sec5 gun. E.G. if you used a lower and the ser no was later traced to a sec5 gun you would be in trouble.
Suppose that's why they are a bit expensive.

Suffolk Guns have straight pulls for sale and I think there was another seller featured in Gum Mart last month of the month before.

Re: Money no option wish list
If i was staying in this country the only thing i want to add to my cabinet is a .50cal bolt gun, probs the AI one, but other than that i'm content with what i've got
However if money was no longer an issue i'd be heading for Montana, USA and then the list would be so long it would crash the FB server!

An absolutely standard 45ACP Colt 1911 in original blue finish (to look at)
A fully tricked-out 1911 with all the whistles & bells, plus compensator, built by one of the top US practical pistol smiths and chambered in 38 Super (to shoot!)
