One of the clubs I shoot with are terrors for that, "next detail" calls the RO and people just carry on nattering. Shooting turned out to be a lot more social than I expected when I first started.
Why outside shooting ranges need to be closed is a bit of a mystery though,

At my smallbore club, members were politely asked not to converse anywhere near the firing points............

Nothing wrong with being asocial.
After people have the first couple of decades on the planet I am surprised everyone doesn't choose to be that way.
