Re: DK 2011
We left the recce of the forest a bit late but still managed to spot maybe 8-9 good sized Reds tonight, no roaring from the Bucks though, we will have a proper look tomorrow night.
This weekend we are off to see some friends and apparently they have Golden Eagles in the area, I doubt we will spot one but will cross fingers and hope. So far all I have seen is Danish Buzzards this year.

Hmm... the moody types are here plinking at 300m in the pitch black pouring rain, no idea what they are shooting, they are not suppressed and go off with a boom instead of a crack, I am tempted to see if I can blag a go

The Viking seemed unperturbed by it all.

Today was a mix of 200m zero followed by the Huns head at 600m which is always fun even if it did pour with rain from time to time. We also got to spend some quality time with the Danish Army which is always good, it looks like I have some new friends

Nope, I could never have been a seafaring Viking. I am mostly ok about it and as long as I have had food to eat I do not get sea sick. However even programmes about the sea, marine life and so on just does not do it for me. I have a slight fear of it all.
Especially whales, I can get totally panicky about whales. How totally irrational.

Re: DK 2011
I remember that crossing from Harwich to Esbjerg, took 19 hours, quite a good crossing that was until my son, then aged 3, hit the fire alarm next to kids play area. That livened things up a bit.
From Esbjerg we drove to Frederikshavn, lovely drive through beautiful countryside, smooth roads, no traffic, totally idylic.
Had three weeks in Frederikshavn staying with friends, great time, great people so friendly and welcoming.....only draw back was the cost of everything from cakes and pastries, to beer and meals out, and the petrol...well I thought if it ever gets to the equivilent of £2.50 a gallon in the UK I am getting a bicycle....
