Boyds Gun Stocks - International sales
FYI - Boyds have now lifted their $100 limit for international sales.
They removed the wording from the website last week but it was still blocking the sale. I tried it this morning and it all went through! So you can now order stocks and have them shipped to the UK. I have ordered a nice adjustable target stock for my Mauser to replace the old one that is about a meter too long!
Be aware that they are charging for shipping.... like, really charging for shipping!
But it is still far cheaper, and with more options than UK alternatives. If the lead time is the be believed, I should have it in 2 weeks.

Don't be surprised if you get hit with Customs and Post Office 'handling' charges when it arrives here.
Re: Boyds Gun Stocks - International sales
I thought the $100 dollar limit was set by the ITAR rules.
Has something changed or am I just completely wrong?

When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns

And ... there is no US tax on the purchase, quite rightly, so why should there not be UK taxes/duty added? The PO charge is just for their time in handing the payment request and transmitting funds to HMG?

I know why it happens - it doesn't make it any less annoying to find an extra cost imposed on the purchase before you can collect it. I have had to pay £20 - £30'ish on more than one occasion, which is often around a third of the original purchase cost.Polchraine wrote:Les wrote:Don't be surprised if you get hit with Customs and Post Office 'handling' charges when it arrives here.

Re: Boyds Gun Stocks - International sales
Yes I am expecting that. VAT should be around £35 and PO standard charge is £8 from memory. Even that on top of the insane shipping charge gets the stock to my door for well under £300 which is damn cheap for a fully inlet adjustable stock.
